Section 1- Short title and extent

Sub Section (1)

This Act may be called the Hindu Minority and Guardianship Act, 1956.

Sub Section (2)

It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu Kashmir and applies to Hindus domiciled in the territories to which this Act extends who are outside the said territories.
