The Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 - Section 9
Agreement in regard to media rights for telecasting IPL Cricket Matches - BCCI rescinded the agreement attributing fraud and misrepresentation to the respondent - High Court seeking direction to restrain BCCI from creating third party rights in the matter - Application was dismissed by the single judge - However, Appeal was allowed by the Division Bench issuing certain directions - After hearing the parties Supreme Court issued interim directions - However, when main appeal came up for hearing, both the parties agreed that matter be disposed of in terms of said interim directions with appropriate modifications - Accordingly, the appeal disposed of in terms of the interim directions with appropriate modifications.
