The Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996  - Section 11

A dispute arose between but settled after exhaustive deliberations between the parties to bring about a quietus to dispute - Applicants agreed to receive a particular sum offered by the respondents as a full and final settlement - Three months after settlement, applicants seeking appointment of arbitrator on the ground that offer made by respondents was erroneously accepted - Application dismissed - Held - In case, final settlement has been reached amicably between the parties even by making certain adjustments and without any misrepresentation or fraud or coercion, it would conclude the controversy and it is not open to either of the parties to law any clam/demand against the other party.
