Indian Penal Code,1860  - Section 306 , The Indian Evidence Act, 1872  - Section 154

Suicide by bride - Prosecution version that parents of deceased had promised to give some dowry articles at the time of marriage which they could not do and accused was harassing the deceased on this account - Evidence of father and brother shaky on this ground - Evidence of brother of deceased that accused had not made demand of dowry articles, but they had themselves promised to supply - Moreover, neighbour of accused did not support the prosecution version - He was not declared hostile - It would be taken that his statement as true.

Indian Penal Code,1860  - Section 306

Abetment - Suicide by bride - Every quarrel between a husband and wife which results in a suicide cannot be taken as an abetment by the husband and the standard of a reasonable and practical woman as compared to a headstrong and over sensitive one, has to be applied.
