Total disability - Loss of income - Determination of - Multiple injuries sustained - Fracture of spinal cord resulting in paralysis of the whole body of claimant-appellant - Rs 3,00,000/- awarded by Tribunal - High Court enhanced the same upto Rs 8,08,052/- Claimant aged about 25 years at relevant time - His spouse aged about 25 years and having a son aged at one and half years - After accident appellant needed one person to look after him - Appellant a self-employed person, with income at Rs 41,300/- p.a. - In view of his steady income as evidenced by income-tax returns, an addition of 50% to the income justified - Choice of multiplier of 17 - Amount of compensation enhanced upto Rs 19,91,702/- - Alongwith interest @ 6% p.a. - Appeal allowed.
